Hello! We are Layton and Lauren Johns, the new librarians, curators, and caretakers of The Bookend Hotel (formerly the original Stillwater Public Library).

As a husband-and-wife duo with a passion for design, hospitality, and storytelling, we’re honored to breathe new life into one of Stillwater’s most iconic landmarks. The Bookend is more than a hotel — it’s a love letter to history, community, and thoughtful craftsmanship.

Lauren leads with a keen eye for high-end interiors, timeless details, and a belief that beauty should feel both intentional and inviting. Layton brings a background in construction, finance, and strategic vision, helping ensure the project is as sound structurally as it is creatively.
